Joël Patisserie Opens Monday October 1 - A Sweet Addition To Atlanta's Culinary Scene

ATLANTA (September 25, 2001) - Joël, Chef Joël Antunes' highly anticipated chic and simple French brasserie with Mediterranean and Asian influences will delight diners when it opens in October. But they can begin to indulge in his gourmet to go sandwiches, salads and bakery items with the opening of Joël patisserie, October 1.

WHAT - Joël patisserie is Chef Joël Antunes' gourmet to go shop featuring sandwiches such as Portobello Mushroom, Sweet Pepper Confit, Goat Cheese, Arugula and Sun-dried Tomato Paste or Turkey with Onion Relish, Brie, Walnuts and Lettuce. There are traditional French bakery items including croissants, brioches, éclairs, madeleines, as well as an extensive selection of gourmet cakes such as Opéra, Charlotte and Melba. Off-site catering is planned for the near future.

WHO - Pastry chef Philippe Givre, formerly of Fauchon, Paris' most famous food emporium, heads Joël patisserie. Marc Bloechlinger, another European import, is the patisserie manager and catering director.

HOURS - Joël patisserie is open from 7:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Joël serves breakfast, lunch and dinner weekdays, dinner on Saturdays and is closed Sundays

LOCATION - Joël patisserie is adjacent to the main restaurant at the Piazza at Paces, 3290 Northside Parkway; 404/233-3500.
